The City of Tomball and Tomball Legacy Fund are honored to support the construction of Louie's Together Playground, an inclusive playground at Juergens Park.
Louie's Toget
her Playground was inspired by the incredible Louie Munson and his wonderful family. Louie was born with Achondroplasia, a type of dwarfism. Louie loves being the center of attention and making people laugh, and most importantly, loves all things construction.
The idea for Louie's Together Playground began when a picture was posted on social media showing Louie's dream of becoming a construction worker. After comments were posted that downplayed Louie's dream, Dr. Nichole Julia, author of The Ables Fables, decided to make dwarfism the next topic of her book series on disabilities. The story, Louie's
Together Playground, featured a llama named Louie who loves to build and, together with all his friends of all abilities, builds an inclusive playground for all kids to play.
Inspired by the book, the Munson family contacted the City of Tomball to make the story of Louie's Together Playground come to life.
